Contract role unitl end December 2023.The role involves working with businesses to develop prototypes via Additive Manufacturing (3D printing).This will include:Manufacturing prototype systems, components, and sub-assemblies from computer aided design (CAD) files and engineering drawings.Operating a range of polymer and metal 3D printers including Industrial FDM, FFF, Polyjet, SLA and DMLS.Creating optimized settings for each 3D print build and documenting this information in a clear detailed manner.Working with clients to produce CAD files and engineering drawings where appropriate.Provide support and fault-finding skills to ensure safe and efficient operation of all 3D printing systems.Producing risk assessments, and method statements as required.Research & development of innovative ideas, leading projects from conception through to completion.Liaising with other departments and off-site manufacturers to co-ordinate on projects and ensure successful delivery.This is an outstanding opportunity for career development in an exciting and innovative environment. You will be working with a unique combination of industrial 3D printing technologies (polymer and metal), and industry leading design tools.Skills:Essential You will need to have a minimum 2:1 degree, in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience. Have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom (UK) at time of starting employment. Good working knowledge of engineering design principles, material properties and applications with experience working to mechanical technical drawings. Good working knowledge of CAD e.g., Fusion 360 or Solid Works. Experience in operating commercial 3D printers, both metal and polymer. Good working knowledge of data preparation and STL editor software for additive manufacturing. Experience in setting, operating and programming CNC machines ideally HAAS. Precision hand fitting and assembly skills.Desirable: Experience in fault-finding and resolving technical problems, resolution of day-to-day customer and team issues. Experience of project management and/or people management. Experience of producing risk assessments and method statements.Special Requirements The role also necessitates the use of a computer workstation and VDU for a substantial proportion of the working day Availability to travel/work within the UK and occasionally overseas, when required
