CK Group is recruiting for a Part time Site Safety Officer to join an adhesives manufacturing company based in Dalton, on a part time, permanent basis.Responsibilities of this Site Safety Officer will include to:- Ensure that the requirements of the Company Management Systems for Health & Safety and the Environment are understood and implemented across the Stafford site- Support the Director of Operations and the SHEQ Manager in developing the management systems and culture in operation across the UK sites- Assist the Site Manufacturing Manager and the Site Services Manager in managing the sites operations- Take pride and ownership for Stafford sites results and appearance- Ensure that the process safety controls within Risk Level 1 & 2 areas are suitable and sufficient- Ensure that there are current Risk Assessments for all site tasks in accordance with company management systems- Maintain the site accident log and environmental log, tracking both the incident and the follow up action take- Ensure the site accurately reports against the Safety lead Indicators and the monthly Corporate reporting requirements- Ensures the work instructions and the training plan for the Emergency Response Team are suitable for the current risks on site- Identifies, and submits Capital project proposals to address identified H&S or Environmental concerns- Ensures that control and review of contractors is sufficient to prevent them having an accident on site- Investigates all near misses, incident or accident reports, following up with the Department Managers on the actions taken- Ensures that the site action list is current and that actions are being taken to address areas of risk- Supports the introduction of new plant and equipment, and Management of Change, by reviewing the associated risks- Supports Departmental Managers in fostering awareness of behavioural safety amongst their teams- Advises on reporting requirements under RIDDOR, ensure that Corporate Reporting Requirements are met- Represents the site with any regulatory authority visit or investigationYou will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:- The position calls for an experienced H&S Manager/ Officer with a minimum of 5 years experience from a similar chemical manufacturing background- The role holder should be qualified to NEBOSH certificate or equivalent as a minimum, and ideally hold the Diploma level- The role holder should be able to demonstrate environmental competence (e.g. be an associate member of IEMA)- The role holder should have knowledge of hazardous goods and experience of working in explosive atmospheres- Computer literate ( eg Powerpoint, Word, Excel )Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detailEntitlement to work in the UK is essential.
