Production Technician

Job Description

The Production Technician forms part of the Technical Operations team, supporting production output. The primary areas of focus will be operating the manufacturing machinery, metrology, functional test and dicing centers. Combined with a team skilled in the art of designing, manufacturing and testing high performance laser optics.Currently undergoing expansion with a new facility to open in Arizona to best serve an ever growing customer base in the USA.DescriptionKey areas of responsibility comprise:* Loading, unloading, and processing on production equipment of optical components.* Operation of Manufacturing Machining, Metrology, Functional Test and Dicing Centres* Preparation of optical glass substrates ready for processing* Inspection of optical parts under microscope, and investigation of cause of defects* Monitoring and replenishment of substrate stocks.* Packaging and shipping of product to outside vendors and customers* General cleanroom housekeeping* Transactional and stock management in MS NAV ERP System* Ensure the company values are always upheld when performing this role* Any other activities as may reasonably be required by the line manager from time to timeRequired qualifications and experienceEssential requirements:* PC Literate, with knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel & Word)* Experience of working with computer-controlled equipment.* Consolidated experience in a precision manufacturing industry.* Production experience within a cleanroom/controlled environment* Experience of manual inspection using microscopes and other equipment.ProfileDesirable requirements:* Use of an ERP system within a production environment.* Optoelectronic or semi-conductor industry experience* Production within a regulated environment* Familiar with 5S and ISO9001.* Comfortable operating in a small and fast paced company environment* Flexible and responsive approach to managing workload.* Ability to plan and prioritize work independently and flag and escalate issues as required.* Team player, communicates effectively and builds good working relationships.* Maintains social, ethical and organizational norms in conducting internal and external business activities.* Focus on Product Quality.* Working with sensitive/fragile material e.g. fused silica, silicon wafers etc.* Inspection tasks under microscope.Working conditions and physical demandsThis role is in a Cleanroom environment.
