We are pleased to be recruiting for an Administration Officer to join Gwent Police at their Police HQ in Cwmbran.This is a full time position working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. This is a temporary assignment initially until December 2024.Please do not apply for this position unless you have lived in the UK for at least the last 3 years continuously. This is due to Police Criteria. Anything less cannot be considered.POSITION SUMMARYTo provide an effective information sharing service by researching, evaluating and compiling information from a range of data sources to support the organisation in complying with a range of disclosure requests, within Data Protection legislation and otherstatutory instruments such as Home Office Guidance and Acts of Parliament.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESTo receive and accurately process information requests from internal and external sources in a timely fashion and in accordance with Data Protection legislation and other statutory instruments (Home Office Guidance and Acts of Parliament)To assess the validity of requests and where appropriate; retrieve and research information using local and national police systems. To evaluate information and make a determination about the relevancy and proportionality in respect of disclosing materialto other parties.To compile disclosure schedules, correspondence and summaries of relevant information in order to respond to requests, ensuring that third party data, sensitive police data or otherwise restricted information is redacted where applicable.To liaise with police staff, police officers, the public, other police forces and relevant agencies to gather and research information required to fulfil the disclosure request, and respond to requests effectively.To apply initiative and knowledge gained in the handling of sensitive, confidential and complex enquiries in determining disclosure material and minimising the risk of data breaches.To manage fluctuating workloads effectively, prioritising own workload to minimise risk to the Forces integrity for late or non-disclosure.To ensure that quality standards and performance targets are met, as set out within local policy and service level agreements.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
