Job Description

Green Orchard Recruitment are partnering with a market-leading Mid Devon based Wholesaler to manage the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their growing business on a permanent basis.Role: Management Accountant (Part-Qualified)Location: Willand (Devon)Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annumAs Management Accountant, you will be working as part of a team, reporting directly into the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for the production and reporting of Monthly Management Accounts, Annual Statutory Accounts, and external Monthly /Quarterly compliance statements in order to provide timely and accurate Management Information to the Board of Directors and internal management team and external reports for HMRC and banking partners.Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake month end accounting taskings including, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, rebates, bad debts, loan interest and other month end journals and adjustments.
  • Support the preparation, review, and analysis of variances in the management accounts to ensure accurate reporting to management, the board, and the bank.
  • Support the audit process.
  • Prepare Month End summaries and reconciliations for Invoice Financing Facility dealing with all matters arising out of this.
  • Gather required information for quarterly Invoice Financing Facility audits.
  • Assisting in the compilation of Quarterly VAT Returns.
  • Carry out ad-hoc summaries and analysis as required to assist with the Companys financial understanding the companys performance.
  • Assist in monitoring expenditure against budgets and communication with the team of any significant variances.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with the Companys policies and procedures.
  • Carry out stock movement for accurate accounting of the Ancillary Warehouses.
  • Take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities whenever reasonably asked.
Requirements
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Part-Qualified, although applications will also be considered from Qualified and Qualified by Experience candidates.
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting practices and principles involving a product related trading business and matters associated with Stock Valuation principles, Cut-Off processes etc.
  • Relevant knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Experience in the management of financial systems and budgetary setting processes, financial reporting, financial data analysis.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills to ease the extraction, analysis of summarising of financial data for data presentation to others.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Able to communicate complex data in clear format.
