Job Description

Trust Accountant

  • Location: Croydon

We are seeking a Trust Accountant to manage the internal financial reporting for our head office, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in finance, looking to makea significant impact within a large and evolving organisation. Day to Day of the role:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for head office departments.
  • Monitor head office budgets, ensuring no overspends and providing financial advice to budget holders.
  • Assist in the preparation of funding bids and business cases.
  • Conduct head office accounting, including month-end reviews.
  • Meet regularly with budget holders to assist in budget management.
  • Prepare year-end papers and supporting schedules for head office activities.
  • Liaise with Internal Audit and External auditors.
  • Assist with various submissions and audits.
  • Reconcile and review monthly inter-academy recharges.
  • Assist with treasury management, manage cash flow, funding, and capital expenditure.
  • Monitor the receipt and spend of donations across the organisation.
  • Review monthly journals and identify opportunities for improving value for money.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • CCAB qualification.
  • Recent and relevant continued professional development.
  • Experience in preparing monthly budgets and management account variances.
  • Strong financial and management information analysis skills.
  • Experience in preparing month-end journals, including departmental recharges.
  • Involvement in year-end preparation for the audit of statutory accounts.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in various software packages.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion is preferred.
