Job Description

INSURANCE SURVEYOR (CONSTRUCTION)LONDON & SOUTH EASTSALARY UP TO £65K DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCEThis role for a Surveyor joins an organisation that provides a range of warranty schemes, working in construction with Developers and Contractors. These are generally high value schemes within the major projects team to include multi storey projects and other complex projects. The role provides full technical building and construction expertise in undertaking site inspections to assess and manage the risk associated with high rise and complex construction projects.You will have proven experience in undertaking construction site inspections in warranty and / or building control for such projects with experience of different construction methods, as well as experience of defect resolution and have experience and understanding of high risk areas of construction, such as flat roofs, basements and cladding systems.Key experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • An in depth knowledge and understanding of current Building Regulations, and construction standards.
  • A good understanding of general insurance principals and terminology is highly desirable
  • A sound understanding of latent defect risk management and the methods for mitigating claims.
  • Full member of professional organisation(s) with minimum grades accepted: MRICS / MCIOB / MCABE / MICWCI or similar, or to be working toward gaining professional membership imminently.
  • Experienced in undertaking site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects.
  • Strong Commercial awareness
  • Good liaison skills, being able to create good working relationships with other construction professionals and dealing effectively with members of the public.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines by managing your own workload to meet deadlines within agreed parameters.
  • Excellent Customer Services skills and experience of Relationship Management.
  • Good IT skills including all key MS packages MS Outlook (email), MS Word, MS Excel).
  • A full Driving Licence
