Job Description

Head of Design Technology - Outstanding School in CroydonWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Design Technology to join our outstanding school in Croydon, starting from September. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a deep understanding of the subject area, and a proven track recordof leadership in a similar role.Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Design Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and engaging curriculum, in line with the schools vision and values.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using data to inform decisions and drive progress.
  • Manage and develop the skills of a team of dedicated teachers, providing coaching, support and challenge as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other department heads to ensure a coherent and well-rounded education for all students.
  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school, including attending meetings, events, and contributing to school-wide initiatives.
Requirements:
  • A qualified teacher status and relevant degree in Design Technology or related subject.
  • Extensive experience of teaching Design Technology, with a deep understanding of the subject area.
  • Proven experience of leadership and management within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to achieving high standards of teaching and learning.
