Freight Advisor

Job Description

A leading business is looking to recruit an experienced Freight Advisor to join their team.The purpose of the role is to manage the day to day import operations worldwide:

• Co-ordinate all import documentation and instructions required, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness to facilitate timely delivery of cargo
• Close liaison with Government and official bodies, (such as Customs and Port Authorities) to ensure all import/export procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively
• Maintenance of electronic and hard copy records of all consignments moved to provide coherent and visible audit trail
• Timely liaison to ensure customers are kept fully up to date with the status of their cargo
• Maintaining the accuracy of cost and sales data in Boxtop and ensuring files are accurately finalised and raise Invoices for customers
• Answer general import/export enquiries
• Raise shipping and road transport quotes
• Ensure good working relationships with both internal and external customers
• Negotiating rates of freight/transport
• Complete Customs Instructions and Entries
• Creating and updating reports for customers
