We recruit temporary and permanent staff across the East Mids, West Mids and Wales for the catering and driving industries. We are currently seeking a HGV Technicianto work a full time, permanent contract for our prestigious client based in Cross Hands. This position is for an experienced HGV Technician responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standard.Job details:• HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic • Based in Cross Hands • Monday – Friday 40 hours – Alternate Shifts• 07.00am – 15.30pm / 12.00pm – 20.30pm, alternate Saturdays 07.00am-12.00noon paid at appropriate overtime rate.• £17 to £18.50 per hour DOEAs a HGV Technician your responsibilities may include:• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard• Diagnose and rectify all types of faults • Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer’s premises• Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises• Liaise with parts department to attain parts• Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to• Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness• Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training coursesThe ideal candidate:• Must be a qualified or time served Truck / Lorry / HGV Mechanic• Should hold NVQ L3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Service, Maintenance and Repair (desirable)• May hold HGV Class 1 licence (desirable)• Will be flexible, adaptable, hardworking and trustworthy• Shall be a team player• Could possess good IT skills and have previous working knowledge of Kerridge (desirable)• Might have experience working on trucks and trailers (desirable)Benefits and perks:• Lucrative basic salary negotiable based on experience • Overtime • 22 days annual leave plus bank / public holidays (31 in total)• Company discounts on various high street retailers• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for financial, health and legal help • 5 year AND 25 year service award with benefit options• CIPD continuous professional development• Free onsite parking, free hot and cold drink facilities and uniform provided• Seasonal benefits such as chocolate at Easter, summer vouchers and vouchers at Christmas• Product release celebrations for attendance• Pension scheme, Company saving scheme, Refer and earn scheme• Social bonus • A culture of promotion from within• Market leading industry training and development opportunities• And more…How to apply: If you are interested in applying or finding out more about this position, please email your CV to Shannon Smith at
