Due to expansion, a fulfilling opportunity has arisen for a Waking Night Support Worker to join a growing care provider. The successful Waking Night Support Worker position will be at either of their sites in Roughton, Mundesley or Salhouse, and earn £9.50 p/h whilst on probation, rising to £10.00 p/h.The CompanyThis first-rate care provider helps adults and children with learning disabilities and mental health and Autism in Roughton. The company specialises in supporting those with Autism and challenging behaviours of concern and runs a day centre, respite services and a residential house from the homely farmhouse there. They have a newly acquired property in Salhouse which will offer residential, day and respite services as well. This care provider believes in helping people and has developed an enviable reputation for quality and service as a result of its highly skilled and experienced workforce. The successful candidate will join this talented care team, who are a welcoming workforce and become a crucial team member.The RoleThe successful Waking Night Support Worker will be responsible for providing all aspects of the care, comfort, emotional well-being and safety of residents at night, while contributing to and following a personalised care plan for each individual. As a Waking Night Support Worker your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:- Providing personal, emotional and practical care for people with learning difficulties and mental health issues- Assisting individual residents with getting up or going to bed, washing, dressing, undressing, changing, turning, bathing and using the toilet when necessary- Following safe working practices including manual handling (hoisting as necessary) and infection control- Reading and writing reports and taking part in staff and residents’ meetings and in training activities as directed- Assisting residents to bed and visiting each person two hourly during the night, unless the care plan states otherwise- Using the Check IT system in a timely fashion, to accurately record care and attention providedThe CandidateTo be considered for the Waking Night Support Worker position you must possess the following key skills and experience:- A caring attitude- Demonstrable understanding of the issues faced by people with mental health and learning difficulties and autism.- Ability to provide emotional support to people with learning difficulties and mental health autism issues- Ability to work within a team and also unsupervised- Ability to make appropriate decisions and follow through courses of action- Ability to take on responsibility- Friendly and relatable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills- Willingness to work unsociable hours- Experience working in the mental health or with those with learning difficulties and autism is desirable but not essential- A NVQ level 2 in Social Care is preferable but as we have a dedicated in-house trainer it is not a requirementAdditional information: working hours are 2200 hrs to 0800 hrs.If you’re interested in this opportunity to become a Waking Night Support Worker then please click “apply” and submit your CV detailing your suitability for this role.
