Job Description

Artworker/Graphic DesignerLocation: Cringleford, near Norwich, NorfolkSalary: £18,000 per annum, Pro RataContract: Permanent, Part TimeHours: 20 hours per week over five days (Mon-Fri) exact hours to be confirmedSchofield Publishing is looking for a hard-working Artworker/Graphic Designer for the production department.This is a permanent, office-based role and the successful candidate will be a part of an established design team, working closely with the Art Editors and the writing team.Artworker - Key Roles & Responsibilities:Working to tight deadlines, you will be creating advertising artwork for clients, from information supplied, which is to be published in monthly magazine titles, both digitally and in print. You will be liaising directly with the clients via email and telephone.There will also be additional tasks such as magazine layouts, administration, updating spreadsheets and artwork copy chasing to tight deadlines.Experience:

  • Working on Apple Mac
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
  • Good understanding of font use and recognising styles
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office for administration use (Word, Excel)
  • Practiced in email communication
  • Artworker - Personal qualities:

  • Advertisements could be on any of six magazines that cover a range of business areas such as Rail, Energy, Logistics or Food & Beverage. This portfolio is likely to grow in the future.Artworker - Additional information:It is a close-knit team and the designer will need to be able to work as part of a unit and be prepared to assist team members as and when required.The designer must be able to efficiently prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.They must be able to self-manage, as well as being a positive and confident communicator. They are heavily relied upon by the Art Editors and must be able to respond well in pressured situations and step-up to meet deadlines when required.Previous design experience desirable, as is demonstrable experience with planning and organisation, and the ability to work to strict deadlines.The designer must be able to proof read their own work for any errors.If this opportunity sounds a great fit for you, please submit your CV for consideration in the first instance, and any examples of previous writing work.No Agencies please.
