CK Science are recruiting for a Quarry Manager to join an environmental management company at their site based near Pontefract on a full time, permanent basis.The Role:Our client offers a competitive salary depending on experience, with working hours of 7.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Benefits include a pension scheme, life insurance, 25 days annual leave, plus others.Your main duties will be to:- Manage the quarry.- Operate the quarry in accordance with the Health and Safety.- Ensure that daily inspection books are completed and defects reported.- Work in accordance with Environmental Management System and promote environmentally considerate work practices.- Checking that the quarrys production levels are maintained safely to schedule.- Altering the quarrys production system in accordance with the materials required.- Maintain up-to-date records and dealing with a range of paperwork.- Maintain the inspection systems and checklists in accordance with the IMS system.- Closely monitoring all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard.- Undertake regular site inspections and risk assessments in order to comply with all health and safety regulations and the IMS system.- Examine the materials produced to ensure that a high quality of product is maintained.Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have:- Experience in quarrying.- Minimum NVQ 3 qualified or equivalent and prepared to advance to NVQ 4 or present day equivalent qualification.- Member of the Institute of Quarrying.- Technical acknowledge/experience on mobile machines, and fixed production plants.- Strong leadership skills involving a multi-disciplined team.- Ability to re-evaluate priorities, responding quickly and positively to change is imperative.- Proven success of influencing at the highest level both internally and externally.Apply:For more information or to apply for this Quarry Manager position, please contact CK Group, quoting job reference 48120.It is essential that applicants hold entitlement to work in the UK.
