Job Description

Crediton Dairy is one of the UKs leading dairy drinks businesses producing an extensive range of branded and own label fresh flavoured and functional chilled milk drinks, long-life milks, creams and our own rapidly growing Artic Iced coffee range. We supplynearly all of the UKs major supermarkets as well as leading foodservice, convenience and wholesalebusinesses.We have embarked upon a multi-million pound investment programme in our operations, with further investment planned over the next 3 years. This is therefore a very exciting time to be leading the HR function within this highly successful business.Reporting to the Head of HR, the role will provide excellent assistance and support to the HR team, employees, and managers. You will be the first point of contact for all HR-related items and will contribute to HR-related tasks/projects which support theachievement of company strategy/goalsThe Role

  • Creating and managing all documentation and administration relating to new starters including offer letters, contracts of employment, pre-employment checks, arranging HR inductions and conducting first day orientations and liaison with payroll/finance
  • Creating and maintaining all employee information and personnel records relating to all existing and ex-employees and keeping it up to date at all times. Liaising with line management to ensure correct procedures are adopted and completed for changes toroles, terms of employment, salary, benefits.
  • Working closely with payroll to ensure that all information and records relating to leavers are processed in a timely way to ensure that accurate and time payments are made, including deductions from salary where required.
  • Maintaining the time management system including setting up new starters and key data
  • Liaising with recruitment agencies and job boards and other recruitment media about all aspects of recruitment, placing vacancies, liaising with candidates, setting up interviews and assessments etc.
  • Liaising with line management to identify information needs, to obtain required information and to highlight and report all instances of non-compliance with HR and payroll systems.
  • Supporting the sickness absence process including, ensuring absences are recorded appropriately, return to work interviews are conducted and that sickness levels are monitored, and concerns flagged
  • Creating and maintaining all administration and correspondence associated with HR including probationary reviews, salary reviews etc
  • Liaise with managers and the OH practitioner on all OH referrals and regular medical checks.
  • Maintaining and communicating HR policies and procedures to employees and line managers. Occasionally and where appropriate, draft or update HR policies and procedures due to changes in legislation or internal approach
  • Maintaining pension records for starters and leavers. Acting as the point of contact for all benefits administration
  • Acting as a point of contact for general HR enquiries from employees and managers, answering queries where possible and escalating to the Head of HR when needed
  • Providing HR information reports to the leadership team
  • Carrying out ad hoc projects including data analysis and HR research in order to inform HR programmes and/or decisions.
The Person
  • Previous experience as an HR Administrator is essential, as is knowledge of HR and Payroll processes and calculations. CIPD qualification and experience of HR project work or research would be an advantage.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge to include the Microsoft suite and specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to influence and professionally challenge in line with HR best practice and UK legislation if required
  • Proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with the ability to prioritise work and manage their own time
  • Numerical and problem solving oriented, attention to detail and able to maintain the accuracy of data in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Socially confident with a positive can do approach. Able to resolve employees and manager queries confidently, efficiently and confidentially.
