Job Description

Head of HR Location: Crediton, DevonSalary: £55k plus a generous benefits package which includes Bonus, Car Allowance, Pension & Private Medical Insurance. There is flexibility to work from home on 1 or 2 days per week when possible.Crediton Dairy is one of the UKs leading dairy drinks businesses producing an extensive range of branded and own label fresh flavoured and functional chilled milk drinks, long-life milks, creams and our own rapidly growing Artic Iced coffee range. We supplynearly all of the UKs major supermarkets as well as leading foodservice, convenience and wholesale businesses.We have embarked upon a multi-million pound investment programme in our operations, with further investment planned over the next 3 years. This is therefore a very exciting time to be leading the HR function within this highly successful business.Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of HR role provides an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to manage operational HR delivery as well as implement tactical and strategic projects, leading the alignment of people and processes and developingappropriate culture and behaviours in order to meet business objectives.The Role

  • Work collaboratively at all levels to provide an expert point of contact for all HR, ER and employment legislative matters
  • Define and implement an HR strategy and tactical plans in line with the business plan
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end HR operations including ttaking the lead on candidate attraction, on-boarding and retention and managing HR/Payroll integration for the monthly payroll process
  • Develop and embed leadership behaviours across the business to drive employee engagement. Support them through the implementation of an effective, high-quality suite of policies, processes and internal communication
  • Design, deliver and manage appropriate learning and development processes and practices. Strengthen the connection that employees have with their work, colleagues and the company to encourage maximum contribution towards the achievement of business objectives
  • Provide recommendations to the Board on reward strategy including salary and benefits benchmarking.
  • Manage employee relations issues such as TUPE, grievance and disciplinary cases with professionalism
  • Deliver talent acquisition plans and actions in conjunction with a seamless on-boarding experience to ensure that we proactively identify, assess and secure talent required for the future.

The Person:We are looking for someone who can lead the function and develop People plans with professionalism, confidence and skill and this role would suit someone who is looking for a step into a Head of HR role.A graduate and ideally a Chartered Member of the CIPD, previous experience of HR within a manufacturing or production environment is required. You will be comfortable with a hands-on role, operating standalone and being a point of contact on HR queries forthe business.The ability to prioritise, plan, and work well under pressure is essential as is ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented. A proactive "can do" approach with a high level of accuracy and commitmentis essential.With an excellent customer service approach and strong analytical thinking, you will have worked in a generalist HR remit where you have demonstrated your ability to work at both operational and strategic level and have been able to influence and engageat all levels. Experience of advising Managers on a range of people matters including discipline, grievance, performance management, absence management and recruitment is essential. Experience of payroll and HR databases would be an advantage.The successful individual will have excellent communication, leadership, relationship-building and organisational skills. They will also possess deep and broad knowledge of relevant Employment Law and HR best practice and demonstrate their ability to remaincurrent with developments in this rapidly evolving area.
