Please note this role is initially remote working with the view to work onsite in Crawley after COVID lockdown.Candidates must be eligible for security clearance.The role:Provide RF and analogue expertise into the current team, primarily experience up to 6GHz would also be useful. Use of CAD tools to analyse and simulate circuits in the frequency and time domains. Produce design documentation through the complete product lifecycle from requirements capture through verification test schedules to manufacturing test specifications. Produce circuit schematics and provide input into PCB layout engineers to assist in the PCB design activity. Design electronic hardware rigs and assemblies and perform hardware integration, verification and qualification. Providing Support to in-house and out sourced production.Key Responsibilities and Tasks:- Design and development of innovative reliable solutions- Test, measurement, debug and verification- Simulation and analysis- Presentation of technical issues at design reviews- Preparation of design documents- Technical assistance to productionSkills:- Knowledge of Engineering Process and lifecycles, both traditional V Life Cycle and Agile Scrum- Knowledge of Design for manufacture / test / support- Knowledge and relevant experience of RF system issues such as cosite interference and co-location of transmitters / receivers.- Knowledge of RF communication standards, topside modelling and link budget analysis would also be valuable.- Design experience and/or General knowledge of the following: RF power amplifiers, RF filters, RF distribution (splitters, amplifiers and combiners), receivers, oscillators, frequency synthesisers, RF cosite and EMC.- Knowledge of V/UHF systems, circuits and techniques would be an advantage.- An awareness of digital control via microprocessors, programmable devices, DSP, FPGA, memory would be an advantage.- An awareness of DSP techniques would be an advantage.- CAD tools:Cadence DE HDL for schematic captureMicrowave OfficeLTSpiceExperience:- Relevant design experience- Product development experience for commercial/industrial/defence marketsQualifications:BEng or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline (Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic, or Communications)Modis International Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers in the UK.
