SummaryPosition: Restaurant Assistant ManagerEmployer: Namaste Shimla PalaceLocation: CowdenbeathSalary: £20- £22K Per AnnumWorking days / hours: 39 to 48 hours within a 5 to 6 day weekPrimary Objective of Position:To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service to guest in the restaurant in line with departmental and restaurant guidelines and service conceptTasks, Duties and Responsibilities:Provide efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service Provide efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous food and beverage service by bussing, serving and setting tables. Accurately records, pre-checks and picks up all food and beverage orders. Serves guests their food and beverage promptly and courteously. Sets tables as needed prior to customers arrival. Ensures that the working area and station are stocked with "mise-en-place" and kept clean and tidy at all times. Ensure the smooth running of the assigned station at all times. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of food and beverage menus, to be able to advise guests in selection and promote additional sales accordingly. Promotes additional sales by sales by taking opportunities to up-sell, in a manner that is professional and courteous. Makes clear orders to kitchen production, and bar regarding beverages, registers orders according to restaurant procedures. Confers with the restaurant Manager concerning set-ups and last minute changes. Confers with the manager regarding last minute arrangements to co-ordinate with kitchen production. Checks the restaurant reservations list frequently during the shiftTABLE SERVICE Works pro-actively to minimise complaints from guests. Ensure till own cash is secure at all times Ensure all discrepancies in own cash are declares to the restaurant manager or Owner. Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy, Notifies the manager or owner regarding lost and found objective. Reports all potential and real hazards appropriately. Fully understands the restaurants fire& emergency procedures. Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others. Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and notifies the manager or owner. Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct.MISCELLANEOUS Refers guests to Manager or Owner regarding requests from information about the restaurant and its surroundings. Stays current with activities in the restaurant by reviewing the communication log book each sift, update log book for next shift. Assists the Restaurant Manager when requested. Attends meetings and training required by the restaurant manager or owner. Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to customers. Continuously seeks to endeavour professionalism in own job function. Knows- Fire, bomb and emergency procedures- Health and safety policies and procedures- Facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance- Restaurant marketing and promotional programs- HACCP proceduresCLOSING DATE: 31/01/2022
