Senior ScientistCoventry 6-month Fixed term Temporary contract £38000 pro rata thefutureworks is a part of Coventry University; We are a recruitment agency delivering transformational talent solutions for temporary and permanent recruitment. The jobAs the senior scientist you will be establishing a medical laboratory to ISO 15189: 2012 UKAS standards. You will be drawing on your knowledge of laboratory processes, especially molecular testing, to establish an exemplary testing facility. Responsibilities will include:Checking equipment process and procedures against ISO standards. Managing the acquisition of relevant equipmentManaging relationships with suppliers and equipment manufactures. Communicating with suppliers and stakeholders to create the final laboratoryCreating and testing SOP.Training staff, laboratory personnel and other professionals.Required attributesQualifications in any of the following: Biomedical science, Microbiology, Virology, Biochemistry, Molecular science or Pathology related work. Laboratory experience, including following and managing SOPA passion for new technology and techniques. The opportunityThe role is for a fixed term of 6 months, with possible extensions as this fascinating area of work develops.
