Job Description

About the roleWe’re looking for a true subject matter expert to lead both Network and Voice provision across the Society, a wide remit that covers everything from BAU activities through to future-proofing initiatives.It’s a hands-on role, part of our commitment to continual improvement of the service we provide, with a strong focus on incidents, requests and problems.A key requirement is to lend expert support to the Practice Manager. This might involve facilitating planning discussions and identifying life cycle and improvement opportunities, as well as establishing the technical skills the wider team needs to succeed.While there are no formal line management responsibilities, the Service Lead will co-ordinate, coach and mentor other technical team members and manage external resources.We’ll require you to be available for out-of-hours support on a rota basis and be based on site for a minimum of two days per week, to maintain team engagement and service focus.Benefits

About youWe need someone to lead the team by example, with strong technical knowledge and a deep understanding of Network and Voice management.You’ll have gained those skills in a large commercial and mission-critical environment where you’ve become well versed in ITIL frameworks, procedures and tools.Your growth mindset, desire to develop and improve processes, and a willingness to learn new technologies, will be great attributes, as will your attention to detail and ability to deliver to agreed timescales.You’ll also bring a track record of network troubleshooting, capacity planning, managing requests into a team, performance improvement and proactive monitoring of Servicenow queues.Your knack for translating complex technical knowledge into clear and actionable language will be crucial to forming successful stakeholder relationships.Essential technical experience:
  • JIRA, Confluence, Ansible, SAFe, Agile
  • SAAS voice services like Genesys and Microsoft Teams
  • Network Architecture supporting infrastructure and software design
  • Cisco wireless networking, switching and routing protocols to CCNA/CCNP
  • BGP
  • Checkpoint/Cisco ASA, Palo Alto and Panorama firewalls
  • Cisco ISE, Prime, DCNM, APIC-EM toolsets
  • AWS/Azure including network understanding within Cloud
  • MPLS
  • Solarwinds enterprise monitoring and NCM
Desirable technical experience:
  • F5 BigIP load balancing devices
  • Contact Centre call flow management
  • SIP broader gateway devices
  • F5 WAF administration
  • Cisco ACI networking
  • SD Wan
