Guiding our industry forward through pure, progressive performance.Let us describe the challenge we offerWe are looking for a proactive, experienced Design (CAD) Engineer to join our exteriors team. Youll be a part of the exterior trim team, based in Coventry UK, working on an exciting future programme. Travel between our UK sites would be expected, with thepotential of business travel in EU and China on occasion.What youll doIn this role, you will be part of a team responsible exterior trim on the vehicle on a number of car programs. As a senior project / design engineer you be responsible for the delivery of a number of components on exciting future programs.You will be responsible for:Project management of various exterior trim components (bumpers /spoilers/cladding/undertrays and underbody components to meet required project milestones from concept engineering to launch.Ensuring program targets are met for responsible systems for cost, mass, quality, timing, and other attributes.Work closely with key suppliers to deliver component designs from concept through to productionManage the CAD packaging with both the Supplier(s) and internal teams.Ensure high quality technical input is shared with the design studio at the appropriate milestonesCoordinate cross functional inputs/outputs for Styling, Package, Vehicle Integration, CAE, Test, Manufacturing, Service, Quality and SafetyManage and release data in Catia through the TCe systemDriving sustainability through innovative design and material choice.Collaboration with the design studio to drive feasible and cost-effective solutions whilst also pushing the boundaries on styling and technology.Ownership of the technical specifications, DFMEAs, DVPs and other key technical documents as part of the new vehicle development process.Supporting the development of design rules, guidelines and standardsSupplier management.You will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. Since an scale-up phase you thrive by working in a fast-paced environment.Who you areFlexible, enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and able to work well under own initiative.Degree qualified or equivalent preferred.Minimum of 10 years relevant automotive design modelling experience using Catia V5.Good understanding of CAD methodology and best practise, including GD&T, 3D PMITCE & Vis Mockup experience also preferred but not essential.Familiar with regulations and requirements affecting bumper systems.Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and familiarity working remotely using Teams/Zoom or other collaboration tools.Clear and confident communicator, able to work in English with suppliers and colleagues globally.Commercial awareness in relation to supplier manufacturing techniques.Disclaimer:This vacancy is being advertised by either Advanced Resource Managers Limited, Advanced Resource Managers IT Limited or Advanced Resource Managers Engineering Limited ("ARM").
