About The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join the Capital & Impairment team within Risk Measurements.The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the development and implementation of analytical solutions to support both Capital (IRB and SA) and Impairment (IFRS9) regulatory requirements. Being able to not only produce results but also answer the question,Why is the value that this Senior Analyst role adds.Core activities include production of capital and impairment calculations, predictive model performance reporting, MI, and completion of regulatory returns. Providing opinion, challenge and awareness via thorough and insightful analysis is a key component tobe successful in this role. The ability to validate results through the use of statistical measures is also desirable.Youll be required to document analysis, liaise closely with 2nd Line of Defence and other teams within the Society such as Finance, Regulatory Reporting and engage with external auditors. Presenting results at senior committees and to senior managers andexecutives will also be required.You may, for a period, be assigned a specific workstream but youll be expected to actively learn about the activities happening in all areas of the department. The role will also require you to support the development of others through coaching, feedback andsharing best practice.About YouWe are looking for someone who holds a degree level (or higher) qualification with particular emphasis on a numerate discipline (ideally, statistics, finance or mathematics related) is necessary, or demonstrable equivalent skills through experience.It is expected that you will have experience in a Credit Risk or Financial environment and able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of applicable capital and impairment regulations and accounting standards. A working knowledge of advanced IRB and IFRS9models (PD, LGD, EAD) for retail credit portfolios would be advantageous. Relevant experience in other asset classes or disciplines will be considered.You will need the ability to diagnose and resolve issues and deliver work from inception to completion.Your inquisitive nature to look for solutions and ability to be agile will enable you to work to tight deadlines whilst dealing with multiple and changing priorities. Due to the volume of management information, returns and documentation completed, you needto be conscientious and able to follow the high standards set by the management team, stakeholders and the regulator.You must also be able to work effectively and cooperatively with a variety of teams within the Society and with external auditors. You must also be effective in communicating with peers, external parties, and regulators, and you may be expected to representthe Society at technical peer group meetings.Knowledge or experience in using analytical tools such as SAS, with SAS Macros, SAS Enterprise Guide and SQL, is essential for this role. You will also have advanced skills in the use of MS Excel and have experience in the use of statistical and reporting packages(e.g., Business Objects, IBM COGNOS).In addition to the technical aspects of the role, you must be adept at writing in-depth documentation as well as presentations aimed at senior (executive level) audiences where you will be expected to effectively brief such audiences on complex concepts ina manner that is easily understandable and appropriate for the audience, to facilitate and inform decision making.The closing date for applications is 15th November 2022
