Job Description

Title: Senior CAS Alias Surface ModellerLocation: CoventryKeywords: CAS Modeller / Digital Modelling / Alias softwareRate: Excellent rate of Pay, Role INSIDE IR35The company employ engineers and technical specialists and is regarded as a centre-of-excellence for whole vehicle design and development. A small but complete car company, with expertise in advanced engineering and research, design, whole vehicle productdevelopment and manufacturing engineering. There continues to be significant investment from the parent company.An experienced Senior CAS Alias Surface Designeris required to join a company based in a brand new impressive, state of the art Building on Warwick University Campus, leading the development of new vehicle designs, assisting the parentcompany with the development of a coherent design language across product ranges.Main activities:

  • To create and release surfaces that faithfully capture design intent. Surfaces are aesthetically-optimised and to a high quality of execution that meet specified standards.
  • To assist the creative process by interpreting 2D sketches into 3D data for design iteration and approval
  • To assist the technical development process by integrating engineering, manufacturing and key technical attributes concurrently with design intent during surface creation
  • Sketch 3D Surfaces to aid aesthetic Design development
  • Create initial theme proposals to support aesthetic and feasibility studies
  • Create surfaces of themes for engineering feasibility verification
  • Create surface release for design approval
  • Create surface release that provide foundation for production surfacing activity
The ideal person will be;
  • Demonstrates advanced skillset in creative digital surface creation using Alias software
  • Demonstrates advanced skillset in technical digital surface creation using Alias software
  • Experience of working with engineering inputs
  • Can interpret design sketches to create appropriate surface proposals
  • Can integrate technical, engineering and manufacturing inputs
  • Can plan time to meet given deadlines
  • Can interface with DMO and provide supporting data for physical modelling
