Sectors: Electronics, Manufacturing, Automotive, EVJob Title: Power Electronics EngineerLocation: Coventry, West MidlandsSalary: £50,000 - £75,000 per annumGoodBenefits PackageCompany Overview & Job Title:An exciting and progressive specialist engineering company based in Coventry (West Midlands) whore currently going through a period of continuous growth, development, along with great current and future opportunities are now seeking to hirefor a brand new Power Electronics Engineer to join the company and to be working collaborating with team friendly highly talented multi-disciplined Research & Development engineering team.The role:The successful Power Electronics Engineer will take responsibility for the development of complete systems, from concept through to production, to help deliver and drive the next generation of across a multitude of applications that includeselectronic systems for Electric Vehicle such as Charger control unit, DC-DC converter, Motor Controller, Vehicle Controller etc.Salary:The salary on offer for successful Power Electronics Engineer £50,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on skillset & experience. Mid-Level, Senior & Principal Level Power Electronics Engineers are considered for this role.Power Electronics Key Skills:

  • 3-5+ years minimum industry experience
  • Experience in the full product design lifecyclefrom concept to introduction into manufacturing
  • Hands on Power Electronics Design and Development
  • Experience of creating in electronic schematics for power electronics components (SMPS, DC-DC, motor inverters, on board chargers etc.)
  • Power electronicsMotor Control, Inverter, high voltage and high power
  • Experience of state-of-art power electronic components (e.g. IGBTs, MOSFETS, diodes, SiC/GaN transistors, gate drive, transformers, and capacitors)
  • Power Electronics TopologiesBuck, Boost, Flyback, push pull, half bridge, full bridge
  • Experience of Electronics Circuit Design (analogue/digital)
  • PCB Design & Schematic Capture
  • Proven experience of PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCAD , Eagle, OrCAD or similar
  • Have used simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, Saber, Simetrix, Pspice or MATLAB Simulink simulators)
Desirable nice to have skills:
  • Magnetic component design and fabrication
  • Embedded C
  • Network Interface protocols - I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, CAN, Canbus, Modbus
  • An understanding of design for EMC and the associated testing
  • Industry sector experience working withEV, Automotive, Green Energy, Transportation

  • Engineers dont really work in a hybrid sense the company are research & development they are in the workshop with the prototypes or visiting consortium partners etc. If there was an occasional need to be home for a delivery or something & there will besome possibility of work from home for that day but sometimes do but its not weekly.
