Job Description

A Contract Mechanical Design Engineer position has become available, within a business that supplies revolutionary technology to the ever-changing Automotive industry. As they work through a huge period of growth, this award-winning company is looking toexpand its various teams, including additional Mechanical and Electrical Design staff. The successful professional will be responsible for the ongoing design of their bespoke product range and liaising with production engineering staff on manufacturing concerns.In return, youll receive a competitive rate (likely to be outside of IR35) and flexible working hours.Mechanical Design Engineer duties include -

  • Design simple hand-operating fixtures, through to more complex automated multifunction components and tooling.
  • Support resolutions of manufacturing-based concerns relevant to new processes, new products, productivity, waste, quality, and safety.
  • Work closely with both suppliers and customers from initial enquiries through to the final launch.
  • Liaise with the testing and development teams on new company products.
Mechanical Design Engineer desirable skills and experience -
  • Experience in a similar position (Mechanical Design of bespoke assemblies)
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, SPM would be advantageous.
  • Relevant engineering education and/or training.
