Job Description

Job Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance EngineerJob Type: PermanentLocation: CoventrySalary: DOE plus shift allowancePremier Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading manufacture of automotive components based in Coventry. Due to business and team growth a new opportunity has become available for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis. Main Purpose of Maintenance EngineerTo carry out installation, reactive & preventative maintenance as required throughout the Plant.Key tasks and responsibilities Havingthe capability to carry out all electrical & mechanical maintenance activities throughout the plant. The installation and maintenance of all electrical & mechanical equipment and services including:

  • Installation of plant & equipment of both electrical & mechanical services.
  • General electrical & mechanical fault diagnosis and rectification on all plant.
  • To carry out preventative and insurance maintenance on all equipment.
  • Assist with electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic circuit design in conjunction with maintenance supervision and production engineers
  • To provide breakdown cover outside of normal working hours.
  • Assist with the writing and modification of programmable logic controller programs in conjunction with maintenance supervision and production engineers.
  • Fault finding on electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic circuits by use of technical drawings
  • The ability when required to manufacture parts by the use of machine tools i.e. Lathe, Miller, Surface grinder etc
  • Build & wire control panels to required specifications from electrical drawings
  • Working with voltages up to 440v
  • General factory lighting
  • To carry out portable appliance testing.
  • To carry out fixed installation testing.
  • Working in extremes of weather (hold, cold, wet etc)
  • Working in extremes of conditions (cramped, dirty, hot etc)
  • Maintaining at all times a high level of safety, efficiency and accuracy.
  • Be prepared to undertake training as identified to bridge any shortfall in knowledge of plant systems & equipment.
    • SKILLS NECESSARY
  • 17th Edition minimum
  • Qualified to a minimum City Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • A skilled knowledge in maintenance engineering.
  • A Recognized qualification in hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • A recognized qualification in PLC controls. Mitsubishi and RS logix 500.
  • A min 5 years maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Steam knowledge would be an advantage. (Training will be given).
  • Working Shift Patterns.
    • Days………...07-15 to 17-00 Monday to Thursday Mornings……06-00 to 14-00 Monday to Thursday 06-00 to 11-00 FridayAfternoons….14-00 to 22-00 Monday to Thursday 5hrs to be worked on Friday flexible.Night Shifts are worked dependant on production requirements.Sound interesting Please contact Daniel Warby at Premier Engineering for more information and apply!
