Job Description

Metalis are currently supporting a leading automotive manufacturing business that supports a wide range of blue-chip clients including Aston Martin and Bentley Motors. The company are on a trajectory growth plan, and by 2025 have ambitions to double in size and factory space. This role requires an engineer that can work independent and provide supervision to an apprentice engineer.Work Hours: Days Regular(Monday - Thursday 08.00am until 5.00pm and Fridays 08.00am - 2.00pm)The company are willing to be flexible on the above for the right person. Role Outlined:As a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, you will be working across a busy manufacturing factory that has a wide variety of in-house production machinery and equipment. Some of the equipment includes presses, spray equipment and computer numerical controlledmachinery. Due to production demands, our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as coordinatingand executing projects during scheduled shutdowns.The role requires expertise in various maintenance disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and general facilities maintenance.Daily Responsibilities:

  • Following a Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule to ensure timely and effective maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues to minimize downtime and improve machine performance.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, ranging from simple office lighting repairs to machine overhauls, and resolving any issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and execute projects during scheduled shutdowns, minimizing production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production staff, engineering, and management, to identify opportunities for plant layout changes and improved machinery to meet production demands.
  • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of plant layout changes to optimize space utilization, streamline workflows, and enhance production efficiency.
Person Specification:
  • Level 3 apprentice trained or bachelors degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, but not required. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and adherence to maintenance schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
