Im working with a market-leading Ed-Tech company whose product is used in over 11,000 schools and academies across 200 local authorities in the UK and has revolutionised their domain. Over the last 20 years the company have been on a mission to spearhead progressand innovation in schools, helping to streamline their operations and transform communication between schools, students, and parents. They currently have two cross-functional scrum teams and are building out a third to support their growth. As part of thisthey are looking for multiple hires from entry/grad level through to mid-weight. What youll be doingJoining a scrum team of 6-8 Developers/Testers alongside BAs and Designers, youll be involved in end-to-end project work that includes a mix of legacy product development and brand-new systems. The role is full-stack but heavily server-side focused with 80%of your time spent on back-end code, but also exposing you to front-end UIs and API development. Youll be surrounded by a supportive team and enjoy developing new skills; theyll set time aside as part of your sprint planning to work towards professionalcertifications.What experience youll need to applyJunior:Development skills/training in C#, Java or C++. C# is an advantage for junior applicants but not essential. A relevant degree or technical qualification/course. A passion and enthusiasm for coding and an eagerness to grow your career.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with technical & non-technical stakeholders. Proactive with the ability to on board new skills quickly.Precise in your work with a close attention to detail.As a junior applicant you can expect to learn some of the following skills:C#, ASP.NET (.NET 4.5, .Net Core), Microsoft SQL Server, jQuery, Knockout, Angular, WebAPI, WebServices, WebForms, Visual Studio, ReSharper, Visual Studio CodeMid-Level:
  • Proven background in C#.Net (they use. Net4.5+ and .Net Core).
  • Full-Stack skills but with a tendency towards the server-side.
  • Well-versed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery. A modern library like Angular/React would be ideal.
  • Skilled in WebAPI / WebServices / WebForms.
  • Comfortable navigating SQL Server and SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio & ReSharper or similar.
  • Cloud-based development expertise, preferably Azure.
  • Ability to undertake unit & integration tests would be useful.
  • Happy working Agile with regular sprints.
  • Any knowledge of TeamCity or similar for CI would be desirable.
