Job Description

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer // Cloud Infrastructure // AWS // Networks // initial 6 Months // £500-625/day UmbrellaREED Technology are working with a client who require an Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to work as part of the businesses Cloud Engineers and Operations team, to support and manage the cloud Compute, Storage and Network services.Responsibilities;

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to drive implementation solutions.
  • Lead the strategy and development of standardised offerings to facilitate build and deployment on AWS for internal customer teams and successful deployment of infrastructure services.
  • Manage infrastructure projects and the platform implementations or workstreams for the broader projects.
  • Be a SME and provide support across all systems and to the wider TechOps teams for cloud Compute, Storage and Network support services.
  • Ensure the systems are secure and all required controls and security policies are applied.
  • Monitor infrastructure and lead on all alerts ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers service provision and operational relationship.
  • Create documentation to ensure members of the team are able to provide support.
Skills and knowledge;
  • AWS networking concepts (e.g. VPCs, load balancing, security groups)
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Windows, Cento and Ubentu Servers
  • Windows Domain Management
  • Cloud Compute, Storage and Network services
  • Network Protocols
  • AWS cloud management and operations tooling (AWS system manager)
  • Monitoring and Management tools. e.g. New Relic, Elastic Search and AWS Management Tooling (Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, AWS config)
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Experience of working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Extensive experience with tooling to support monitoring, telemetry, logging, and reporting/dashboarding, and continuous delivery technologies
