Job Description

Midlands Truck & Van is the approved Mercedes-Benz and FUSOCommercial vehicle dealer representing the West Midlands & Shropshire areas with dealerships located in Birmingham, Coventry & Wolverhampton.We currently have an opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join our Depot in Coventry

  • Shifts Available: Late Shift 13:00 – 22:00 and Nightshift 22:00 – 6:00
Duties:• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles• Carrying out road tests• Performing emergency road repairs• Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA standards• Diagnoses of vehicles utilising computer based diagnostic equipment• Carry out scheduled fleet maintenance tasks• Preparation of vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections• Carry out re-chassis work and light fabricationCandidates should be able to demonstrate:• Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines• Ability to actively seek solutions to problems• Ability to work as part of a team• Good verbal communication skills• Excellent customer care skills• High level of technical knowledge and ability in mechanical repair• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements• Previous experience would be required• Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering (all modules completed) – Heavy Vehicle Qualification• Previous working experience as a HGV technician with a strong technical background, as well as a keen interest in vanAt Ballyvesey Holdings your right to privacy is important to us.
