Job Description

Our client is the future of first and last mile transportation and their innovative designs have gained international recognition. They are looking for a skilled Harness Build Technician with experience across OEM and system 25 harnesses to join their ambitious team.Harness Build TechnicianWest Midlands

  • Full Time (36 hours per week), role could be temporary, permanent or fixed term

Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKJoin the production team at our client’s Head Office as a Harness Build Technician and help provide innovative parts and supplies to some of the biggest names in the motor industry.About the Role:Working as a part of a professional team, you will have the opportunity to create intricate and detailed small quantity products utilising state of the art machinery and innovative designs.Responsibilities:
  • Build automotive electrical harnesses to high standards.
  • Building both low and high voltage assemblies and enclosures for prototypes.
  • Performing end of line test procedures such as continuity, isolation and resistive tests and reporting.
  • Collaborating with their in-house engineering team to support design and development.
  • Assisting in building the test rigs.
  • Follow procedures and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Responsible for adhering to EHS procedures and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Complete tasks to a high standard, within agreed deadlines.
  • Participate in training activities for continuous improvement and skill development.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience in OEM and system 25 harnesses, preferably within the motorsport/aerospace industry.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Proficient understanding of EDS design, including fusing, grounding and network topologies.
  • Experience with Cirris or another electrical harness testing software.
  • Knowledge of 2D harness drawing requirements and EDS requirements, specifications and verification/validation methods.
  • Experience with wire wrapping/twisting and service loops.
  • Knowledge of common and high voltage connector systems, wire types and sleeving.
  • Familiarity with automotive and/or motorsport wiring standards.
  • Ability to support effective root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions for quality issues.
