Job Description

Are you an Excel wizard with an appetite for a challenge Do you possess the financial analytical prowess to turn data into actionable insights If so, we invite you to be part of this dynamic team at this well known consumer goods company in Coventry inthe role of Financial Analyst. The company works closely with UK and international suppliers to provide profitable branded and own label products to a varied portfolio of shops and supermarkets. They are committed to sales, marketing, technical, and logistical support for their customerbase.As the Financial Analyst you will analyse sales performance, margin variances, and promotional effectiveness. Your insights will play a pivotal role in shaping commercial strategies. You will also review product and category financial performance, support annualsales forecasting, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). In addition, youll be involved in analysing and preparing reports on packaging and plastic waste.Responsibilities:

  • Analyse sales performance and margin variances, identifying key drivers.
  • Evaluate promotional performance and report results to the commercial department.
  • Periodically review product/category financial performance.
  • Support in preparing the annual sales forecast and review performance against actuals.
  • Monitor and review monthly KPIs.
  • Analyse and prepare reports on packaging and plastic waste.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties, data requests, and projects as needed.
What we are looking for:
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manipulate large data sets using functions like VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Pivot tables.
  • Any experience with Macros, Power Query, BI, or DAX would be advantageous.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to avoid processing errors.
  • Willingness to be proactive and learn on the job, using initiative.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Ability to manage workflow in line with internal and external deadlines.
