Job Description

Mobile / Field Service Engineer required - Nationwide

  • Basic Salary from £39 – 45,000 Basic Salary + Bonus, Overtime & Call Outs
  • On target earnings £50,000 – 60,000

Our client is part of a global brand with a prestigious reputation who are one of the worlds leading suppliers of drives and power systems for marine applications, for heavy land, rail and defence vehicles, and for the oil and gas industry. You will be partof a forward-thinking team developing sustainable solutions within drive & power systems for the future.Due to growth in the area, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our client’s team as Field Based Service Engineer across the UK and Ireland. You will conduct services, repairs, and overhauls when required to a high standardand all the tasks surrounding these responsibilities.Ideally you will have a background within either Mechanical or Electrical engineering and experience with working in a mobile / field-based role. An understanding of Engines, Generators and knowledge of Rotary UPS systems would be an advantage.Our client is seeking applications from Candidates with prior experience within a hands-on mechanically minded position. Duties of Field Service Engineer with our Client:
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of Dynamic Uninterruptible Power Systems, Diesel Engines and their Ancillaries and Controls Systems.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and diagnostic tests to identify faults and malfunctions.
  • Develop and implement effective repair strategies to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide customized solutions.
  • Complete service reports, documenting all work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers, offering advice on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging technologies to enhance your technical expertise.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide 365/24/7 emergency on call coverage as part of the Field Service Engineers call out rota.
What our client expects of their Field Service Engineer:
  • Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of dynamic uninterruptible power systems, diesel engines, and generators.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and make sound decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and work in various locations as required.
  • Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
  • Product training is provided.
  • Knowledge of power generation industry, preferably with field installation and service experience in the UK and overseas territories of Dynamic Uninterruptible Power Systems, Static UPS, Diesel, or Gas Genset products, applications and associated ancillarysystems to form a complete turnkey solution in LV and MV.
