Job Description

Made up 52,000 engineers, Alten provides engineering support in Aerospace, Ground Transportation,Defence, Energy, IT, Life Science & Financial Services.Due to ongoing expansion, Alten Ltd is looking for an Electronic design engineer to join our team in the Midlands within the Automotive and Aerospace sectors. This is a fantastic chance to join a fast-growing company with strong core valuesof Accountability, Integrity and Service.You new role:As a Electronic design engineer, you will be one of our consultants performing on one of our major engineering projects in the UK. You will also be contributing to our development and growth within the Automotive and Aerospace industries.Your main responsibilities will be:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications.
    • Design, develop, and test electronic circuits and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze technical risks to provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Create schematic designs and oversee the PCB layout process.
    • Work closely with firmware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of electronics with software applications.
    • Perform thorough testing and verification of electronic designs, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
    • Generate detailed documentation including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
Who are we looking forThe ideal candidate will possess a passion for Engineering, with a result-oriented and proactive mind-set. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on several exciting projects throughout their career with Alten, developing their engineeringknowledge as an engineer and a consultant.Experience required:
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in electronic circuit design and development.
    • Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
    • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design principles.
    • Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGA, and embedded systems.
    • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, or Simulink).
    • Solid understanding of EMC/EMI principles and design considerations.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Possess the legal rights to work in the UK, we cannot offer sponsorship for this role.
