As a leader in the manufacturer and supply of high-performance industrial adhesives and adhesive application equipment, we are currently on the lookout for a highly skilled Polyurethane Chemist to develop, formulate and test new polymer technologies fromour facility in the West Midlands.BASIC SALARY: £50,000 - £60,000BENEFITS: Pension Healthcare 20 days holidayLOCATION: Walsall - West MidlandsCOMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Litchfield, Stafford, Birmingham, Coventry, Telford, NuneatonJOB DESCRIPTION: Development Chemist, Polyurethane Chemist - Adhesives, Technical ConsumableThe role of Development Chemist is focussed on contributing to the development, formulation and testing of new polymer technologies. Joining an experienced team of driven professionals, you could be looking for a commercial lab-based management role, a purechemist position or a mix of both, whatever is driving you, we would be keen to talk!Key duties of the role will be as follows: Assist in the transfer of new polymer technologies into full scale production. Investigate existing products and formulations to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce cost, in addition to improving chemical and physical properties. Liaise with suppliers, source and test new raw materials. Support quality control activities including developing quality control procedures and related documentation. Train and support production and QC teams in all technical aspects.PERSON SPECIFICATION: Development Chemist, Polyurethane Chemist - Adhesives, Technical ConsumableWe would like to receive applications from candidates who are: Qualified, ideally with a Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Material Technology. Able to demonstrate a proven track record in the formulation, development and testing of polyurethanes. Familiar with the raw material supply chain within the polyurethane industry.
