Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join Saint-Gobain Digital in a remote or hybrid position. We share knowledge openly andhave a very collaborative spirit, even while remote.We have our platform built for our building distribution businesses, but the team now has a great opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of a platform for our manufacturing brands - think streaming, IoT data...and more!The purpose of the role will be to deliver robust interfaces of data for analytics projects and business reporting; ensuring quality, reconciliation and recoverability. Also to advise the business on the feasibility of solutions from existing data sourcesand potential new applications.Experience needed:

  • Experience with the Informatica ETL set of tools (IICS or similar).
  • Experience with the MS Azure platform (ADLS, Synapse, Synapse Pipelines, Azure DevOps etc).
  • Experience with using source control systems (GIT etc).
  • Good understanding or relational and non-relational databases (NoSQL).
  • Good collaboration skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
Desirable:
  • Experience with incorporating Data Governance principles into designs.
  • Experience with data quality and cataloguing tools (MS Purview).
  • Experience of working with Service Delivery, Cybersecurity, DevOps, Integration and Testing teams in a large organisation.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
  • Setting up and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Creation of views and tables in our data warehouse platform.
  • Documentational workflows and pipelines created.
  • Responsible for implementing automated tests and deployment frameworks in collaboration with DevOps.
  • Responsible for ensuring cost optimization on the platforms
  • Monitoring performance issues on the platform alongside Service Delivery
