Peter is not a big fan of sports. He has just started attending secondary school and is still adjusting to big school and its routine and workload.His brother John (14) is a very thoughtful and smart young man, he likes a calm environment and focused activities like Lego; he is currently building a gigantic Lego set! John has just started Year 8 of secondary school which he is really enjoying. Bothbrothers have a diagnosis of autism and ADHD and need emotional support and self-regulation. John can become overwhelmed if tired, or if the targets he set for himself are not achieved. You will need to recognise this and help him calmly deescalate the situation.Overview of role: In this role you will be required to support the boys with the after-school routine and build a caring and trusting relationship with them. Both children thrive on routine, they enjoy a structured and calm environment with a fair and consistent approach. Afterthey return from school, you will enable them to plan their homework, encourage and prompt them to develop their own routine and be as independent as possible. You will prepare nutritious meals, help with light housework and any chores which involve both boys.Initially you will work alongside their mother to become familiar with their routine and getting to know the boys. The goal is for mum to return to work so this will be a sole charge role. Hours: Monday to Friday 4.30pm to 8.30pm. £20.00 gross per hourWho this job would suit: This job will suit a friendly, intuitive, and creative SEN Nanny/ Buddy with plenty of common sense, who is able to engage and develop a good rapport with both brothers.You will have great understanding of autism and be confident in de-escalating behaviourthat may challenge, manage it calmly and reassuringly. You will be a good team player and communicate effectively with both parents. We are looking for a candidate looking for a long-term commitment.
