Job Description

The RoleWe are looking for someone who is highly motivated, deadline driven and able to thrive in a very busy environment; a proven track record of working in a very busy multi activity level environment is essential.As a Bid Writer, you will work alongside the other Bid Team members in the production and writing of Bids and Proposals, meeting tight deadlines whilst producing high quality compliant submissions, in-line with corporate guidelines.Candidates will either be experienced Bid Coordinators who have started to develop writing skills and are now looking to develop into a successful Bid Writer role, or an existing Bid Writer who is looking to become an integral part of our Public Sector BidTeam. Candidates must be highly motivated, innovative, customer focused and have a can do attitude.Working with both sales and operations colleagues within the Public Sector Team, this role requires you to be articulate and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as possessing the drive and diligence to work well under pressureand meet demanding deadlines.You will be capable of writing and creating bespoke responses with the aim of securing Business tenders within the public sector, this includes;

  • Ensuring that win themes are articulated in such a way to meet/exceed the clients requirements.
  • Identifying and re-working existing pre-written content where relevant.
  • Reviewing and editing content received from the business and subject matter experts.
  • Delivering high standards of work, ensuring all documents are free from errors and professionally presented - ensuring the layout of the documents is correct and to a high standard - in line with agreed corporate style guides.
  • Contributing to documents through having the ability to question elements of a proposed solution against client objectives, so that solutions are appropriate to client needs.
  • Delivering on-time bespoke documents - by managing others and self effectively.
  • Creating an effective network and building relationships with colleagues, to call upon if required to support you in achieving a deadline - adapting style for different team members, to maximise their output.
  • Knowing at all times where we are against deadlines and communicate accordingly, managing these deadlines.
  • Preparing presentations for Sales Managers to support post-submission interviews.
Additional Team Tasks
  • Working with the rest of the Bid Team to develop an effective library of information and liaising with other departments to keep this up to date.
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests for content from staff within the business.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience RequiredEssential
  • Proven bid team involvement
  • Previous bid writing experience, or similar
  • Excellent research and interpretation skills
  • Skills in questioning, writing, editing and checking/reviewing
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent time-management and organisation skills
  • Excellent communicator
  • Excellent IT skills - including proficiency in all MS Office applications
  • Strong academic background. Degree level desirable [in English Language/Creative Writing, or similar] or, if you have bid writing experience - GCSE English A/B or 6/7 and Maths C/4, as a minimum.
