Job Description

3rd Line Infrastructure EngineerHybrid - Coventry£35-45k D.O.E + Company BenefitsMy client is the largest independent organisation in the UK within its sector and requires an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer. The company boasts state of the art and purpose built IT centre where the successful candidate will be based.Role

  • To provide third line professional technical support with the aim to fix all incidents passed to them from 1st and 2nd line.
  • You will be required to investigate and resolve support incidents in line with the customers SLA.
  • You will also be required to perform a variety of proactive tasks which will help maximise up time, perform root cause analysis and prevent reoccurring issues.
  • Tasks will include resolving more complex monitoring alerts, investigating root causes of issues and outlining potential resolutions, ownership of P1 incidents through to resolution, deploying the latest security updates and upgrading customer systems.
  • You will be expected to mentor more junior service desk personnel while undertaking project work on customers behalf as required. Keeping abreast with emerging technologies and suggesting improvements to both internal and external systems will be partof the role too.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the Technical Lead working with Incident and Service Delivery Management.
  • Proactive monitoring of allocated assignment groups and personal queues.
  • Resolution of technical issues escalated by 1st and 2nd line
  • Proactively communicate with internal colleagues, third parties and customers, to ensure customer is appraised on progression the path to resolution.
  • Successful BAU project delivery on new systems and integrations
  • Patching / updates of key infrastructure and services
  • Updating internal systems and documentation with relevant information
  • Mentor junior members of the team.
  • Achievement of SLAs for response and resolution.
  • Work across teams and with third parties on escalation of problems and major incidents.
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers for delivery of services such as data connectivity.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by line management, ensuring process is followed
