Job Description

Bid WriterA successful and growing medium-sized Main Contractor is looking to add a talented Bid Writer to work on bids for a variety of public sector and heritage projects in Central London and the wider South East.Initially, due to Covid restrictions, this role will be mainly home based but it is anticapated that it will be mainly office based in the future. There is some flexibility.The CompanyWith offices in Central London and North London, the Bid Writer will join a well-established Main Contractor working in 3 main areas: Social Housing, Heritage, and Central London (various project types including resi, health and education).This is a relatively young company that has grown rapidly in the past decade and now has about 100 employees and £70m worth of projects ongoing. It is a forward thinking and progressive employer that provides a very extensive annual training budget for its employees.The RoleThe Bid Writer will work with an existing Bid Writer on tenders covering the whole business, helping to improve the already impressive win %. Duties will include:PQQ / ITT Submissions

  • Co-ordinate with Business Development Director and Marketing with to select most winnable PQQs / ITTS
  • Schedule out enquiries and input from the construction team for quality submissions
  • Build up portfolio of policies, information, and responses to help in delivering quality bids
  • Collate information on PQQs / ITTS submitted, won, lost, and evaluate
  • Prepare PQQs / ITTS and Co-ordinate with Estimating Dept / Construction Department to ensure these are prepared within the time constraints.
  • Client Database & Meetings & Presentations
  • Continue building Client Database (Salesforce) on all organisations & contacts
  • Attend meetings with Business Development Director when required
  • Gather general information to build up portfolio for presentations and marketing purposes
  • The PersonThe successful Bid Writer will be able to hit the ground running and will have:
  • At least 2 years experience specifically as a Bid Writer with a Main Contractor
  • Excellent written communication and design presentation skills
  • Experience in Social Housing or Heritage will give you a significant advantage
  • Ability to write high quality technical responses for PQQ and ITT submissions
  • Experience of using Adobe InDesign software
  • Coming from a permanent job rather than freelance background
  • Articulate - English to mother tongue standard - and able to easily communicate at all levels
