Job Description

They are looking for someone to source and negotiate the buying of goods, materials and services to meet the Companysoperational requirements.BuyerJob Description

  • Negotiate and schedule material demands from ERP system to support production schedule
  • Be a point of contact for internal stakeholders at the Farnborough siteSales, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Production
  • Sourcing and negotiating the best price to deliver on-going cost savings for the company
  • Order placement in office 365 and factor in usage history, lead time, and the current market
  • Following up with suppliers for confirmation dates and expediting where necessary
  • Monitoring supplier OTIF regularly, and querying with suppliers where necessary
  • Track cost increases and cost savings within procurement
  • Build and develop strong relationships with suppliers
  • Supporting the Buyer Team Leader with reporting when required
  • Processing requisition requests from other departments in a professional/timely manner
  • Support accounts with invoice queries and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Conduct supplier reviews against company procedures
  • Make required site visits to new and existing suppliers
  • Make sure all quality standards are understood and maintained by the suppliers
  • Understand the capacity of the supply chain
  • Query non-conformances with suppliers and work with them to resolve these issues
  • Ensure optimum stock levels are maintained
  • Provide cover for a Buyer or Buyer Team Leader in their absence as required
  • Uphold the Companys core values of integrity, commitment, accountability, innovation, and respect
BuyerEssential Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications
  • 3 years experience in a buying role
BuyerDesirable Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using MS Excel and databases, preferably office 365 and SAP
  • Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems
  • Ability to read engineering drawings would be advantageous
