Job Description

We are working with a primary school located in Durham (DH8) who are looking to secure a Teaching Assistant to work within Reception who can work 121 with pupils in the class. The role is starting straight away for the right candidate, and will bean ongoing until Summer as the school has funding in place for the pupils. About the Role:

  • Working 121 with a reception aged pupil
  • Ensuring pupils are able to access the curriculum at the appropriate level
  • Working Hours: Monday mornings (08:30-12:30) and 08:3015:30 Tuesday to Thursday (Term Time Only)
  • Weekly Pay: £325 - £375 paid every Friday (pro rata)
Candidate Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Experienced working with Reception aged pupils
  • Holds relevant experience working 121 and with SEND pupils
  • Hold a Child Only DBS accessible on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
Candidates who have experience in the following job roles have also been successful for this role: Child Minder/Career, Youth Worker, Nanny, Community Youth WorkerAbout the School:
  • Consett based Primary School, Ofsted rated Good
  • Attainment and the rates at which pupils make progress have improved in the Early Years provision and Key Stage 1
  • The Head Teacher and the governing body have a clear understanding of the schools strengths and relative weaknesses in teaching and achievement
  • Pupils behaviour is good, they say that they feel very safe in school and they look after one another
