Job Description

Are you an inspirational, driven, and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher who is looking to make a positive difference to the lives of young people If so, we want to hear from you!Prospero Teaching are looking for a resilient and experienced Year 1 Teacher to work in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Consett (County Durham) on a full-time or part-time basis from September 2023. The role is for the full 2023/2024 Academic Yearwith the strong possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right candidate.The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to full classes with the support of Teaching Assistants within lessons. The school works with a wide range of ability levels, including pupils with a range of SEN and challenging behaviour. A key partof the role, therefore, will be to differentiate lessons appropriately and work effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that is suited to their individual needs and learning styles.It is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children every day.This role will involve:

  • Planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons to Year 1 classes that inspires pupils and allows all pupils to make progress.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
  • Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
  • Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
This role requires:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • QTS
  • Strong subject knowledge
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
  • Experience of Teaching within the UK
  • A genuine passion for Teaching young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • A commitment to CPD
