Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

An exciting opportunity to work for one of the leading Historic building main contractors in East Anglia. R&J Hogg Ltd, located near Thetford are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and work on some of the most prestigious buildings in EastAnglia. This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS to work in one of the most interesting and varied sectors of the construction industry, each project is unique and offers a new challenge.The role will involve the following:

• Monthly valuation process to clients and professionals, inc regular site visits
• Recording and pricing of contract variations
• Project cost allocation and recording
• Sub-contractor tender packages, reviews and payment certificates
• Contract management (Usually JCT)
• Cash flow analysis and value engineering
• Cost/project reporting to clients and professionals
• Internal cost tracking and reporting to directors
• Take offs and quantities in tender process
• Estimating and pricing (limited)

The ideal candidate should have

• Previous QS experience - this role would be suitable for either highly experienced QS candidates or less experienced assistant QS candidates. Training can be provided if required.
• Knowledge of historic buildings preferable but not essential
• Proficient in office (Excell and Word)
• Effective communication skills to both lay clients and professionals
• Highly organised and accurate working methods
• Ability to work effectively as part of small team
• Drivers Licence
