They allow people to grow, mature and reach the potential of their own skills and abilities.We are delighted to be working with them to recruit an ER Advisor.Salary depending on experience, ranging from £30 to £42k + £6k Car allowanceJob DescriptionJob Title:HR ER AdvisorDepartment/GroupHuman ResourcesLocation:Travel Required:YesReporting to:HR ManagerPosition Type:Full Time or Part TimeJob Purpose StatementTo provide a comprehensive Group HR service to the company and employees, to support the achievement of company objectives and strategy.Key Accountabilities

  • Manage Tier 2 ER Cases (company grievance and disciplinary processes and procedures).
  • Conduct one to one formal’ and informal’ employee meetings including home visits when required (e.g., LTS)
  • Support managers in performance management processes by advising on appropriate tools and techniques (e.g., appraisals, performance reviews)
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to HR Policies (Company Handbook, HR Policies etc.)
  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any Tier 2 queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations (conflict resolution and mediation/coaching)
  • Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes.
  • Identifying development needs for the business.
  • Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g., employee appraisal systems)
  • Supporting the HR Manager with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary
  • Learning and Development: identifying criteria for training and development, deliver coaching where appropriate.
  • Managing employment Tribunal and ACAS Early conciliation related cases including settlement agreements and redundancy cases.
  • Reviewing existing grievance and disciplinary procedures
  • Follow up on Tier 2 ER issues to ensure that advice is being acted on and followed through to conclusion, provide specific case management.
  • Adhoc Projects (Covid-19, Furlough, Brexit, acquisitions etc.)
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to Managers in the effective use of all HR policies and procedures; acting as Tier 2 support for all ER matters including but not limited to investigation, disciplinary, grievance, short and long-term absence, whistleblowing, and family friendly policies.
  • Assisting with and developing recruitment pushes
  • Monitoring key recruitment metrics, such as turnover and retention rates
  • Ensure HR and Employment Law knowledge is up to date and advice is given is in line with law and best practice.
  • Prepare all ER letters in conjunction with Managers ensuring legal requirements are met.
  • Act as a HR Support in Employee Relation cases when required.

    1. CIPD qualified
    2. Role model for the department demonstrating a high level of integrity and honesty.
    3. Good all-round knowledge of HR, employment law and government guidelines
    4. Good communication, influencing and negotiating skills
    5. Effective in planning, organising and prioritising
    6. Good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
    7. Effective in managing, developing and supporting staff
    8. Commercially aware
