Job Description

Role: Housing Support WorkerBased: WarwickshireRate:£25409Start Date: ASAPDuration: PermanentHours: 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 4.30pm FridayOur client, is looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker to support young people (aged 16 to 25 years) in emergency accommodation enabling them to develop independent living skills to maintain tenancies and break the cycle of homelessness. To focus deliveryon working with young people to achieve the best possible outcomes with particular regard to personal, social, educational and vocational development.Synopsis of Duties

  • Enable young people to gain the skills, confidence and understanding necessary to manage independent living.
  • Assess and meet the needs of vulnerable young people using support plans which actively involve the young person in developing their options.
  • Maintain and develop lasting relationships with a wide range of organisations to betterdeliver services to young people.
  • Help to develop positive young people friendly policies and practices to optimise a successful transition to adulthood
Essential Requirements
  • Extensive experience of face to face work with young people and in young people settings
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of housing and welfare benefits legislation, particularly with regard to young people
  • Clearly evidenced understanding of the issues affecting young people’s ability to access and retain accommodation
  • Experience of undertaking holistic risk and needs assessments of vulnerable young people
  • Ability use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Email and Intern
