Live in PA / Graduate / Carer / Support Worker to Creative Writing student - EssexAskJules are agents for young disabled adults who choose to employ Personal Assistants to provide their care and support.Start Date: September 2023Working: Live-in university Halls 7 days on / 7 days offPay & BenefitsPay: £150 Per dayLocation: Essex5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)Accommodation provided whilst on shiftFull Bespoke training in the client’s particular requirements will be providedNEST Pension SchemeAbout our ClientOur client is in her first year at Essex University studying Creative Writing, she has a diagnosis of Spina Bifida and is a full-time wheelchair user.Our client is easy going and has a great sense of humour, who enjoys spending time doing her makeup whilst watching classic 2000s comedies and period dramas or listening to old-fashioned music.With a joyful and delightful persona, she is keen to gain more independence whilst at University.As written by our client:"I am a happy, easy going 20-year-old with an old soul. Maybe slightly over emotional at times and a little bit shy until you get to know me. I am going to Essex University to study creative writing as I believe in the power writing has to make someonefeel seen and heard. Another reason I applied to university was to see how independent I can be, as up until now I have relied heavily on family members especially my mum. I relax by spending ages on my makeup whilst listening to my old-fashioned taste in music or a classic 2000s comedy or a period drama. I enjoy going clubbing and have a goal of starting going to the gym both things I might need assistance with. I dohave a car that my electric chair can use but I can’t drive.I enjoy trips out but am bad organising them myself. I really enjoy hanging out with other people and chatting but I can also be easily pleased being by myself. I also own a dog so it would be goodto know your animal lover.
