Essex Outdoors, Essex County Councils Outdoor Education Service, are looking for experienced Cooks/Chefs to work during the 2020 summer season from May - September.Please note that these positions are being offered on a temporary basis with an expected duration of 3 - 4 months and will be based at Rewsalls Lane, Colchester, CO5 8SX. Due to the rural location, applicants will need to have a drivers license and access to their own vehicle. About Us:Essex Outdoors provides high quality outdoor learning opportunities, from activity days and Forest Schools through to residential experiences and adventurous expeditions. From archery and climbing through to power boating and sailing. Essex Outdoors delivers a full range of activities to excite and inspire. The role:As the Cook/Chef you will be working on one of our very busy sites and as part of a team, you will assist in providing three great choice and quality meals a day for up to 500 residential visitors on a 5 out of 7-day rota system. For successful candidates, uniform will be provided. Free meals will be provided during work hours. You will need to provide your own Chef knives. Knowledge, Skills and Experience:- Ordering - Stock rotation and controls - Experience in catering for high numbers - Menu planning - Managing staff and budgets would be an advantage, however not essential - Industry standard qualifications would also be an advantage, but we will happily consider suitably experienced applicants.
