Due to recent successful tenders an established main contractor operating in the water sector are seeking to recruit a Head of PMO to strengthen their Senior Management Team.The company have been awarded significant works on AMP 7 across South East England and are well placed to offer a rewarding career as the continue their planned growth.The RoleThis is a key strategic role reporting directly to the Group MD. The main purpose of the position is to administer and monitor projects ensuring cost, quality, programme, efficiency & benefits realisation are controlled and achieved. The PMO will be tasked with developing & implementing strategy and best practices to enable the successful delivery of of programmes of work and projects to stakeholders across the business. They will also provide reports to the client and functional management to demonstrate current status and future plans to address and manage change. Key responsibilities will include:Management of project managers, project engineers, projects support and planning departmentDevelopment of the PMO as process and procedure ownerHead risk management Responsible for improving project delivery, processes, systems and guidance.Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverablesEnsure cross-programme dependencies are managedDefine and implement project control and governanceExperience RequiredSuitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:Significant experience managing a PMO function within the civil engineering or utility sector combined with a proven track record of successful programme, risk and change management.Applicants will ideally be educated to BSc Civil Engineering or similar level and will have the experience and capability to achieve membership to the Association for Project Management.Experience working within a regulated environment Proficient IT skills in Primavera, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS project essential.This role is immediately available.
