Job Description

MM590 - Yard OperativeLocation - CoatbridgeSalary: Basic £24710 - £32136 DOE and shift pattern (Inclusive of shift allowance)OverviewDue to continued growth and production development, we are looking to recruit 2 reliable and hardworking Yard Operators to join our clients’ existing processing team based in their Coatbridge facility. The operations on site include waste oil processing, storage tank farm management, vacuum distillation unit, oil separation (centrifuge), loading and offloading road tankers and an on site waste transfer station for handling hazardous waste.Our client provides a comprehensive range of waste management and recycling services, predominately handling and processing waste oils and fuels.The RoleThe operations on site include waste oil processing, storage tank farm management, Vacuum Distillation, oil separation (centrifuges), loading and offloading road tankers and overseeing an onsite waste transfer station for handling hazardous waste.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload tanker lorries
  • Taking manual oil samples for the lab
  • Operating controlled valves and pumps to transfer oils
  • Cleaning tanks, IBC’s and Bins
  • General Yard duties
  • You will be expected to work outdoor in all weathers up to 90% of the time

  • The ideal candidate will come from a processing plant like distillers, quarrying, silo operations or chemical processing
  • Must have the ability to follow controlled process procedures
  • You must be physically fit
  • Be self-motivated
  • Willing to learn
  • Comfortable to work outdoors participating in 24 hour shift working pattern
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping whilst following all on site health, safety and environmental rules and regulations
  • A flexible and committed approach to work is essential
  • Ideally will have a forklift licence, however this is not essential
    • The hoursCurrently 4 x 12 hr (48 hr week) 1 week days and 1 week night eventually changing to Mon to Friday 3 shifts, Days, Back Shift then Night shift 40 hr working weekIn return our client offers
