Job Description

IT Systems AdministratorWe are pleased to be working for a fast growing business based in North Somerset who are looking to recruit an IT Systems Administrator to their IT team. This is a site based role at their offices in Yatton. Reporting directly into the IT Manager you willbe responsible for the administration of all IT Systems and associated infrastructure within the business.As such you will be experienced in supporting networks, servers, security and other infrastructure within a business environment. Some systems used include Windows Server, 365 cloud environments, HYPERV and VMware. On the networking side you will be experiencedin fibre, Cisco switches and Meraki wi-fi points.General duties include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks; including back-ups, and software maintenance/updates
  • Protecting the companys IT assets - hardware and software - by implementing sound security principles.
  • Working with the IT team to design and implement IT processes in order to maximize efficiency.
  • Administration to include: maintenance of the asset register, control of passwords, keeping informed and reacting to trends in anti-virus, email and web security
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
  • The logging of all hardware and software to ensure legality, appropriate usage and protection of company assets
  • Talking staff/clients through a series of actions - either face-to-face, over the telephone or remotely.
  • Replacing equipment as required. Testing/evaluating/implementing new technology as required for the improved running of the business
  • Providing support documentation, including procedural documentation
  • Running network applications to support system and users
  • Supporting new applications; to include training of users where require
